Spring has arrived and with that comes increased activities. Has the harsh winter left you feeling stiff and out of sorts? Are you feeling back and neck pain from muscles that haven’t been used for awhile? This type of pain may get worse with use instead of better. Before the pain becomes persistent, find the help of a back chiropractor. With a few spinal adjustments, a back chiropractor can help restore your mobility and offer relief from pain.

Here are few tips that will help alleviate your back pain, and prevent injury to your muscles so that you will be ready for spring and summer activities:

Warm up -- Warm up your muscles before starting strenuous activities, such as running or swimming. Stretch your arms, legs, and back to prepare your muscles and joints before starting your activity.
Start Slow – It takes your body a few weeks to adjust to physical stresses. If you have been sitting a lot during winter’s cold days, build up your stamina slowly before spending the entire day on strenuous activities, such as wakeboarding or playing tennis.
Use The Right Equipment – To limit the stress placed on your back and legs during an activity, be sure to use equipment that fits your height and weight. Borrowed equipment can often cause injury as it doesn’t fit you properly, even with adjustments.
Posture – Be sure you understand the proper posture for performing activities or using sports equipment. There is as correct way to lift and hold heavy equipment that can help prevent injury.
Take a Break -- Let your body rest every 15 to 30 minutes while performing strenuous activities.

Remember: Get yourself back in shape for Spring with the help of a back chiropractor!
