With all the new snow in the mountains, many people have probably increased their type and level of activities. With these increased activities, such as skiing, snowboarding, sledding, or snowshoeing, just to name a few, the probability of falls has significantly increased as well. Whether or not you have been in training, this new activity is a change to your body and you are using different muscles in different ways. Extra pressure and strain are being put on your back and body, which can result in all sorts of problems and injuries. In addition, falls can create injuries from the impact as well as whiplash-type injuries to the neck.

How many times should you go to the chiropractor? At the very least, after your initial consultation, you will want to continue chiropractic services on a monthly basis. This will help keep your spine flexible and moving, balance the muscles, and strengthen the discs, tendons, and ligaments. Subluxations may occasionally occur just from the stress of life, but they can easily be released.

People of all ages suffer from neck pain. Many are turning to chiropractors for care because it’s been found to be one of the most effective forms of treatment available, with typically no side effects!  But what are the benefits of seeing a chiropractor for senior citizens?

Researchers are projecting that by 2030, nearly one in five residents in the United States will be 65 or older. Currently, approximately 14% of the patients treated by chiropractors are 65 or older, making it one of the most frequently utilized forms of alternative care used by older adults. Musculoskeletal pain—pain in the neck, back, arms, and/or legs—drives the majority of elderly patients to chiropractors.
